Let’s talk About Candles
Somebody once said, “you get what you pay for!” Meaning the quality of products that we purchase. I have seen that over and over with clothes that I have bought throughout the years. Amazingly I still own some garments from over 20 years ago! They have lasted because of the quality of the fabric, and how they were made.
With that at the forefront, I look for quality especially in the areas of my home.
Over the years, I have been on a journey of detox, through trial, error, and research! I have been on a search to find products that are quality and especially products that don’t contain harmful substances. It stands to reason that highly synthetic perfumed candles would be full of very dubious fumes. Now having said that there are extremely reputable companies who use 100% soy and essential oil for fragrance therefore I also like to support the companies in the marketplace who have high standards and are incredibly reputable candle makers.
Most people are so completely unaware of the cocktail of noxious substances that sit in homes in all sorts of forms from cleaning products to petrochemicals. So my research is also to help others understand and to make the switch!
We all understand just how important bees are to the food chain, but there is so much more to these amazing creatures, and what they produce. I am so thankful for the bee-keepers and for those who make life-giving candles made from beeswax.
Beeswax candles are natural air purifiers. They emit natural light, and create negative ions, which actually HELP PURIFY the air! They also attach themselves to foreign air particles, consequently helping reduce indoor air contamination. Think about this, 100% beeswax candles are made from ONE product – beeswax, whereas some ingredients in synthetic perfumed candles have been associated with allergies and respiratory issues. Whenever possible, I would sincerely encourage 100% beeswax because the benefits are wonderful and beeswax is magnificently created by bees! That in itself is simply stunning!
My encouragement is to let’s do our research and read about what is actually in the candles that we are burning. I have educated myself and read countless documents and articles to come to this conclusion.
